I don't understand ebay people...

January 14th, 2009 at 12:18 am

I sold 2 identical pairs of boots. One brings $18.75 and the other $8.50. Why such a difference?? Same boots, same condition....Same shipping fee....

I just don't get it.

Same boots, same condition, same fee, but different buyers. One person was willing to pay $18.75. Another was only willing to pay $8.50. I've dropped out of bidding on auctions when the price got to be more than I was willing to pay. In many cases, I later found the item for the price I was willing to pay. That's how auctions work.

Yep...out of all the people bidding for those two items only one was willing to pay $18.75. Crazy stuff though, huh? Enjoy the proceeds!!

I expected them to go around $9 or $10 a peice..So, went above my expectations. Oh well.
Actually I did ok, as I only paid $12 each last winter, so about made back what we paid for them.
And, selling these came to the same price that I just paid for a windsock for our weather station on ebay. Got it off ebay for $30. To get the same one elsewhere, the cheapest I priced was $42. So, I can't complain.

You just never know. I had 3 or 4 keepsake ornaments. Last year when I sold them before xmas, they brought between 15 and 20. I had one left this year and they were bringing around the same money, so I bravely (stupidly) started it at 99c. Wouldn't you know it, that's what it brought!!! I learned a valuable lesson... Glad yours did better than expected.

It is the luck of the draw! I have something listed that usually bring $20-50...and with 6 hours left they are at .99!
