OK, I missed getting Sundays paper, so that was a bummer - no coupons. So, I am checking trying to find coupons online for the items I am interested in. We are already planning a trip to the library tomorrow, and go by the new CVS store on our way there.
I still am not sure exactly how the bonus bucks thing works. I already have one of the red cards.
Another thing I don' undertand...I bought some stuff at a CVS store several months ago and on line, it says I will be issued a reward for $10.81 on Jan 1. What does that mean? Does it take 3 months for the bonus bucks to catch up??
Our water company (rural water) was investigated by the state, and is lowering their rates next month. YES! I also got our new bill today, for $35.48. Last month I had a credit because it seems they had been estimating the water bill compared to last years water use. However, early this summer we got our
new front loading washer, so they were over estimating it (hence a credit last month). So for a basic month, I expect it to be in the $30 range from now on out. A year ago it was around $75-$100 depending on the month, so we have slashed it at least in half with the new washer. (It only uses 8 gallons of water, even for a large load, and its large load is almost twice as large as my old washers large, and it used 66 gallons for a large load and 44 for a small one). So, I am washing twice as much laundry in 1/8 of the water. The energy tag that came with it gave the figures for electric use, and we estimated around $7-$13 a year for the electric. So, it is saving us money all around.
Going to try this CVS thing

By the way, if you forget to use your quarterly extra bucks, you can call the customer care # and have them reset. They won't reset the extra bucks from the weekly/monthly sales.
There is a site called hotcouponworld.com that lists out all of the upcoming deals and how best to take advantage of them. You may want to check it out.
Good luck!

There are 2 different types of Extra Care Bucks (ECB's) they issue. The one they advertise the most with the card is the 2% on every purchase. Basically, this 2% is paid quarterly, so the Fall bucks are going to be paid out on January 1st - the first time you go to CVS and buy anything after Jan 1st you will see your 2% bonus ECB on the end of your receipt. So, if you spent $100 over the last 3 months you will get 2% of that or a $2.00 ECB on the end of your receipt that you can spend on your next purchase.
The other type of ECB they offer is immediate gratification - if you look in this week's ad you will see certain items that give ECB's when you buy them - usually the ad says something like "Product X $5.99, Get $2.00 in ECBs, It's like getting it for $3.99"...when you see those products advertised you will receive those ECB's at the end of the receipt in which you made the purchase - you do not have to wait until the end of the quarter and you can use them right away. This is where you can really make some money by combining coupons on items that give the ECB's back right away.
As far as the $10.81 that does not sound like the amount you will be receiving since they pay out the quarterly ECBs in multiples of $0.50 I think. Here is a good link to the overview of the ECBs:

So, do I have to track this with receipts? Will they mail the quartly thing to me or does it show up on the red card I have?
