About Me:

In 2006 I quit my city job of 20+ years to remarry, move and become a "farm wife". For the most part, I am a stay at home mom.

As of the 2007 school year, we are a homeschooling family.

We also farm. Our farms include a large garden, haying, horses, cows, geese, chickens, ducks, pigs, rabbits, 2 stocked ponds, small vineyard and an orchard.

We live at the main farm (the one with the animals) and our other farm is currently growing hay, nuts and firewood to harvest this fall.
In the spring we will be adding sheep, and turkeys.

We have 5 daughters, (including 2 sets of twins) 3 who are still at home.

I love to camp, travel, garden, fish, bake, do needlework, sew, genealogy and ride horses. One of my favorite places to travel to is Northern Indiana (LaGrange county), where I have Amish cousins and to learn about my ancestors.

My goal is to help this family stay on track financially and to stay out of debt, other than our mortgage.

I now have a signed lease, so I for sure have the house rented out. I have a couple weeks to get it all ready--it needs a good cleaning, and some painting. And, since it was vacant awhile, a few things need some attention--a couple ceiling tiles came down (no biggie to put back up) and a bird cracked a window pane (left his feathers behind for evidence). They will be moving in a month from now, so I have plenty of time to get my work done. That is a relief!!

Since you home school, you can plan a unit on "home maintenance" and put those girls to work with you. Just kidding, but I know a home schooling mom, who teaches her kids math, science, etc. through cooking, and lots of other practical applications.
I'm sure it is a big relief to have the place rented.

Did I mention it is a 2 year lease??? That will save me a lot a year from now. Their background checks came out good also.

Did I mention before I had a sex offender and a drug user/chemist try to rent it??? But, at least they told the truth on the rental app!!
